Maundy Thursday Service 2016

To mark the beginning of the Triduum during Holy Week, we held a Maundy Thursday Service on 24 March 2016. During the service, we walked through the journey of Lent, from Ash Wednesday, to Palm Sunday and finally Holy Week. We reflected on the significance of the word ‘Maundy’ which comes from the Latin word Mandatum or Mandate. During the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday, Jesus washed the feet of his 12 disciples and gave them a new commandment- to love and serve one another.  Leading by example, our Principal, Ms See and Vice-Principal, Ms Ariken also washed the feet of a group of 12 parent volunteers, teachers and students. The final hymn No Greater Love was a timely reminder of Jesus’ sacrifices for us as we prepared ourselves for Good Friday, followed by the joyous celebration of Easter.
