Track & Field Sports Clinic 2015

On 28 July 2015, our ex-students Veronica Shanti Pereira and Jannah Wong Min graced the Track and Field Team practice session with their presence. They were invited to conduct a Sports Clinic for the Track & Field team.

Veronica Shanti Pereira won the bronze medal in the 100 metres with a time of 11.88s at the 2015 Southeast Asian GamesThis was Singapore's first medal in the event in 42 years. She also won the gold medal in the 200 metres, rewriting the national record she had set in the day's heats. This was Singapore's first gold medal in a sprint event in 42 years. Jannah Wong kicked off her SEA Games debut by finishing sixth in the women’s 100m hurdles final, clocking times of 14.28 seconds, which is also the national record for the event.

During the two-hour session, both Veronica and Jannah shared with the team their journey as athletes as well as the preparations and sacrifices that they have made thus far. The session was full of vigour and fun as Veronica and Jannah introduced new drills and routines to the team. The session ended off with a short game of Captain’s Ball to further strengthen bonds within the team.
