P5 LJ to Little India 2015

On 19 August 2015, the Primary 5 pupils went to Little India for a Learning Journey. Using a learning trail app on a Samsung note, pupils navigated around Little India using the GPS. The app also provided them with information on the history and culture of Indians in Singapore. Pupils explored places such as

1)    Shree Lakshminarayan Temple for North Indians

2)    Kerbau Road where many traditional performing arts shops are located

3)    Serangoon road where the pupils were able to see a stretch of goldsmith shops that sold traditional Indian wedding jewellery

4)    Tekka Market food Centre

5)    Little India Aracde along Serangoon Road where pupils were able to do Henna and buy peacock feathers

6)    The Verge, a shopping centre in Little India

All in all, the primary 5 pupils had a meaningful experience as they were able to learn more about the religious beliefs and culture of the Indians in a fun way.
