Ascension Mass 2015

On 14 May 2015, we had held our termly Family Mass to coincide with Ascension Thursday, a day of obligation. To celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, we sang the befitting Lord I lift Your Name on High as the entrance hymn. The Gospel reading, Mark 16: 15-20, spoke of ‘And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven: there at the right hand of God he took his place, while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that accompanied it.’ During his homily, Father Damian called for us to follow in the footsteps of the disciples-to talk to God and walk with him in order to be his witnesses, especially as we prepare ourselves to be ready to receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.  Mass ended with the hymn Rejoice the Lord is King as we lifted up our hearts and voices to rejoice in the glory of God.
